Martin Katschner

After several years of paragliding Martin started flying gliders in 2006 to explore the Austrian Alps from above. Now he enjoys the challenge of soaring the Southern Alps of New Zealand.

From Trial Flights and Learn to Fly courses  to coaching advanced  pilots, Martin has made his passion his profession.  With a background in engineering in a multi cultural environment he  particularly enjoys working with clients from around the world and analysing their flights so as to help them  further their skills and understanding.  For him, being able to consistently adapt to the needs and safety of his client in this demanding environment is what make the work so engaging and satisfying.

As Maintenance Controller and a NZ Class 3 Glider Engineer,  he manages the company’s hangars and workshop and is responsible for ensuring that the Glide Omarama fleet maintenance is up to date and that the aircraft are all in top condition.
