Multi-Day Adventure Soaring is for visiting glider pilots or flying enthusiasts who wish to enjoy several days of spectacular mountain soaring at Omarama. Fly each day (minimum 2 1/2 hours) in a high performance Duo Discus for as long as you like with one of our instructors.
This is a great opportunity to experience Omarama's extraordinary soaring environment. On a 2 1/2 to 5 hour flight it is usually possible to fly deep into the mountains; soar around Mount Aspiring or Mount Cook or to climb to 20,000 feet in wave and make long high speed flights for several hundred kilometres.
Your instructor of course will be pilot-in- command but his role can vary from doing all the flying himself or just being a check pilot while you fly. Each flight will have a detailed pre and post flight briefing.
Cost: NZ$220 per hour in a Duo Discus (NZ$140 per hour in a Grob 103 or Twin Astir) plus aero tow. Subject of course to weather considerations there is a 2 1/2 hour minimum flight time. Advanced bookings are required and we are happy to help with accommodation options around town.
