Pilots flying solo or Pilot in Command in New Zealand are required to belong to a New Zealand gliding organisaitiation that is affiliated to Gliding New Zealand. GlideOmarama membership is recommended to overseas pilots requiring this affiliation. In addition pilots will appreciate our famous briefings in exclusive airfield clubrooms and our sound local advice and family like atmosphere.

Membership Costs

Full membership is included in all course fees for the duration of that season.

Full Membership costs NZ$450

• required for solo pilots flying 7 days or longer.
• Daily Supervision and Omarama Orientation Briefing fees are included in Full membership.

Temporary Membership costs

NZ$ 70 per day.

• required for solo pilots flying up to 6 days.
• Daily Supervision and Omarama Orientation Briefing fees are included in membership
