This two day course is an introduction to what soaring gliders is all about. It’s fun, informative, hands-on and includes as much as gliding as you can handle! Bring a friend for a great week end out.

Gavin Wills Mountain Soaring operates this course most weekends. It includes:

• An introduction to the Learn to Fly course syllabus
• Briefings on – weather and soaring conditions,
• Ground School - the effect of the gliders controls, straight and level flight and turns.
• Ground handling and inspecting the glider
• Aero towing
• Hands on glider flying and soaring
• Personal instructor
• Unlimited gliding hours in a two seat Grob 103 glider.
• Meeting glider pilots

Cost:

NZ$660 each for two persons or more

NZ$870 for one person

Cost includes:

• All briefings and ground school
• Instructor fees
• Unlimited flying hours – normally 2 to 3 hours per day is enough for a beginner
• A guaranteed minimum of 2 hours glider flying
• GST and 5% Airport levy
• Refunds at NZ$90 per hour if less than two hours achieved.

Cost does not include:

• Accommodation or food.
• Aero tows – Allow 2 or 3 tows of about NZ$70 each (charged by altitude)
